The Tearsmith is the book-to-movie adaptation of the namesake bestseller written by Matilde, better-known under the pseudonym of Erin Doom, and published by Salani Editore. This teen dark romance drama was the most sold book in 2022, becoming a proper literary sensation.

The movie is written by Eleonora Fiorini and Alessandro Genovesi, who is also the director, and tells the moving story of two orphans, Nica and Rigel, and of a mysterious artisan, known as the tearsmith, that shapes all the fears and anxieties that inhabit the human souls.

“The Tearsmith” is a Colorado Film production available on Netflix from April 4th 2024.
And after the book proved to be an incredible success, the film seems to be doing great as well: it ended up topping the chart of Netflix’s most-watched movies only 3 days after its release.
