Rainbow CGI’s Interactive & Innovation Department designed and developed “MY PASSPORT FRIENDS” Augmeted Reality APP for Rainbow SPA and Witty Toys.

The App allows the many children around the world who are passionate about Witty Toys characters, to learn and have fun through the magic of augmented reality. In fact, by placing virtual ‘My Passport Friends’ anywhere, in the living room or in the garden or in their favorite cities, such as Paris, Rome or New York, little fans can take pictures with their favorite character to share with family and friends.

The 3D production involved the modeling of 12 Witty Toys characters and their related animations within the App.

MY PASSPORT FRIENDS APP has 3 different AR modes:

1. Scan your passport.
Frame your passport and see your friend playing in his/her own environment. You can see Ace Magician from Budapest pulling tricks from his hat, Lulu the Ballerina from Moscow tippy toeing the Ballet or Mary the Queens Guard from London marching at the parade.

2. Scan your figurine.
Frame your figurine to bring to life in 3D. Take a picture, store and share with friends.

3. Take your virtual friend with you and take a picture anywhere.
Select a flat surface, push the scan button and move your phone until the stars displaying on the screen and tap on your screen to view your passport friend in real space!
